Density Test
The density of a substance refers to the mass per unit volume. For geosynthetic barrier materials with unknown volume, our laboratory applies the immersion method according to TS EN ISO 1183-1 METHOD A. This method is performed using a precision balance and a known density immersion liquid.
Carbon Black Content and Ash Content
The carbon black content is determined according to the TS ISO 6964 METHOD A standard. The determination of carbon black content and ash content is done by pyrolysis of the sample at 550±50°C under nitrogen flow for 45 minutes and calcination at 900±25°C.
Mass Flow Rate of Melt (MFR)
The MFR test covers the procedure for determining the mass flow rate (MFR) of molten thermoplastic materials under specific temperature and loading conditions. It is conducted in our laboratory in accordance with TS EN ISO 1133-1.
Oxidation Induction Time (OIT)
Defined as the time it takes for a sample to oxidize under an oxygen stream at a constant temperature of 200 degrees after heating under a pure nitrogen flow. This test is performed in our laboratory according to TS EN ISO 11357-1 and TS EN ISO 11357-6 standards.
Shore A Hardness
Shore hardness value is used to determine the hardness of polymer materials. Our laboratory measures the hardness of polymers using the TS EN ISO 868 standard.
Determination of Tensile Properties
This involves stretching materials at a constant speed until they break, determining values like tensile stress at yield, tensile strength, tensile stress at %x elongation, tensile stress at break, elongation at yield, elongation at break, elongation at tensile strength, and nominal elongation at break. Our laboratory uses TS EN ISO 527-1, TS EN ISO 527-2, TS EN ISO 527-3, and TS EN ISO 12311-2 standards.
Low-Temperature Bendability
An experiment to determine the behavior of a sample against bending after exposure to low temperatures. Conducted in our laboratory according to the TS EN 495-5 standard.
Glass Transition Temperature
A fundamental distinguishing characteristic of polymeric materials. It's the temperature limit at which the material starts losing its glassy properties and begins to gain viscous properties. Performed in our laboratory according to TS EN ISO 11357-2.
Static Puncture Determination (CBR)
This test measures the puncture resistance of a sample; it is done by using a universal testing machine and a flat-ended piston to determine the force required to puncture the sample. Conducted according to TS EN ISO 12236.
Crystallization and Melting Temperature
A method for calculating the crystallization and melting temperature and enthalpies of polymers under a controlled temperature program in a nitrogen gas flow. Applied in our laboratory according to TS EN ISO 11357-1 and TS EN ISO 11357-3.
Thickness Determination Under Specified Pressures
An experiment to measure the thickness of geosynthetics under pressures of 2 kPa, 20 kPa, and 200 kPa. Conducted in our laboratory according to TS EN ISO 9863-1 Method C, Method D, and TS EN 1849-2.
Liquid Permeability Determination
A method used to measure the steady-state fluid flow through a geosynthetic barrier designed and manufactured to contain liquids. Performed according to TS EN 14150 in our laboratory.
Determination of Tear Resistance
Tear resistance is defined as the force at the moment of tearing a test sample at a constant speed in a universal test device. Conducted in our laboratory according to TS ISO 34-1 and TS EN 12310-2 standards.
Dimensional Stability
A test method used to determine the dimensional change of plastic sheets after heating. Applied in our laboratory according to TS EN 1107-2.
Unit Area Mass
An experiment conducted in our laboratory to determine the weight of 1 square meter of a sample, according to the TS EN 1849-2 standard.
